Marc Chason, Sr. Associate

Marc is a senior technical executive with over 25 years of experience leading corporate-wide initiatives transforming R&D into commercial product platforms having significant top-line growth and bottom-line impact.  He is a globally recognized industry expert in energy, solid state lighting, and electronics with strong engineering management skills, creative strategic technology vision, numerous high profile technology transfers, and several launched technology/business development initiatives.  During his career he has established and led programs to commercialize innovative consumer electronics, RF components, advanced IC packaging, and portable energy products.  He was the Director of an intrapreneurial energy venture who was responsible for the development of products based on innovative materials, designs, and manufacturing technologies, as well as the associated intellectual property assets, the commercialization strategies, and the marketing plans.  Also, Marc led a corporate initiative to launch an innovative Virtual Manufacturing & Order Fulfillment Process for supplying components for wireless communications products, including the negotiating of licensing agreements and qualifying supply chain members.  He was a senior member of the corporate intellectual property committee tasked with implementing strategies for IP asset management (patents, trade secrets and know-how), IP portfolio evaluation, and IP licensing strategies.  Marc has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals, holds 25 US patents, was named a Master Innovator and received the highest technical honor at a Fortune 100 company for technology and product innovations.  He holds a Masters degree in Materials Science and a Bachelors degree in Engineering Science, both from SUNY Stony Brook.

Tomasz Klosowiak, Associate

Tomasz has over 20 years of experience in leading development, design and final product integration efforts of wireless communications devices and automotive products at Fortune 100 companies.  His work in the area of portable displays, especially projection displays involving lasers was well recognized. Resulting from this work, innovative configuration solutions, and size and power reduction schemes were patented. In addition to leading display and optics programs, he has led product development for automotive applications (engine controller units, ABS controllers and silicon pressure sensors). During these programs, he was responsible for delivering mechanical and thermal analysis, designs, and testing, as well as manufacturing & scale-up strategy (materials, process and assembly equipment).  He also has extensive experience in materials, product design and processes for flexible printed circuit boards and organic MEMS components.  These projects led to new business opportunities and in some cases substantial increase of company revenue (hundreds of millions of dollars).  Tomasz was elected to a Science Advisory Board at his former employer (an honor bestowed upon less than 1% of engineers) for his deep product development engineering experience with strong fundamental underpinnings in physics. In addition, to his 14 US granted patents, he has numerous scientific publications in peer reviewed technical journals.  He was named a Distinguished Innovator at a Fortune 100 company in recognition of the demonstrated bottom-line impact of his innovations.  Tomasz Klosowiak received his PhD in Engineering and MSME from the Technical University of Warsaw in Poland.

Jing Qi, Associate

Jing is a senior engineer with more than 10 years of experience leading business critical initiatives as a new product introduction engineer, manufacturing engineer, process engineer, and research engineer.  She was a member of the product development and supply chain groups during the design, prototyping, and launch of new consumer portable products at a Fortune 100 company.  Jing was held accountable for mitigating manufacturability, reliability, and quality risks through design changes and process improvements.  She ensured manufacturing readiness for several new product introduction launches and maintained product quality and cost competitiveness throughout the entire product lifecycle by driving product build performance and cost reductions.  Jing was responsible for initiating programs that reduced manufacturing cycle times by identifying and eliminating non-value add steps to ensure cost control and by establishing strategic partnerships leading to significant improvements in production manufacturing processes and conversion costs.  In addition, she was responsible for reviewing and approving product designs for manufacturability & reliability by integrating best practices and driving manufacturing acceptance protocols for new and critical parts.  Jing was responsible for creating process flow recipes & work instructions for assembly of new products and implemented reliability contingency plans based on guidelines, simulations and reliability tests.  She conducted international supplier quality audits and drove suppliers to improve product quality by developing and implementing robust corrective and preventive action processes.  Jing earned her Master of Science Degrees, MSEE and MSTE, from Auburn University. She has been granted 4 U.S. patents, is a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, Certified Quality Engineer, and Project Management Professional.
